The Many Facets of Hateful Content Detection: From Perspectivism to Bias

Resumen

This is the summary of the PhD thesis in Computer Science written by Giulia Rizzi, under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Rosso and Prof. Elisabetta Fersini. The PhD was conducted under a cotutelle agreement between Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) and Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca (Italy), awarding a double doctoral degree. The thesis defense took place in Milano, Italy, on February 26th, 2025, in the presence of a committee formed by Prof. Alberto Barrón-Cedeño (Università di Bologna, Italy), Prof. Craig Macdonald (University of Glasgow, Scotland), Prof. Giacomo Boracchi (Politecnico di Milano, Italy), and Prof. Matteo Palmonari (University of Milan-Bicocca, Italy). The thesis was awarded the distinction of Cum Laude and received the Doctor Europaeus recognition.
