Spanish Text Simplification: An Exploratory Study

Resumen

We present an explorative study for the develpment of a Spanish text-simplification system. We use a corpus of Spanish news texts and their simplified versions. We automatically aligned this corpus and annotated a part of it for the editing operations which are necessary in order to transform the original text into a simplified version.
